Secondo la tradizione, la festa del grano di Jelsi nasce nel 1805 in seguito al terremoto del 26 luglio di quell’anno, per ringraziare Sant’Anna per aver difeso e protetto il paese.<\/p>\n

Da allora, a memoria d’uomo, ogni 26 luglio \u00e8 portata in processione la statua di Sant’Anna. Alla quale si chiede la protezione dal terremoto e dai mali futuri attraverso l’offerta di spighe di grano.<\/p>\n

Questa tradizione si inserisce nei riti agrari mediterranei, trasformandosi nel tempo in una manifestazione comunitaria che mescola cultura agricola, fede e arte popolare.<\/p>\n

Il giorno della festa, circa quaranta tra traglie e carri sfilano lungo il corso principale del paese, guidati dal \u201ccarro della Santa\u201d, cui segue una sequenza di mezzi tradizionali e carri allegorici pi\u00f9 moderni che rappresentano scene di vita contadina o elaborazioni figurative in grano.<\/p>\n

I carri non sono pi\u00f9 semplici offerte devozionali: diventano vere e proprie opere d\u2019arte, tanto che oggi alcune di queste sono custodite nel MUFEG \u2013 Museo di comunit\u00e0, dove sono conservate insieme agli strumenti, alle figure dei carristi, traglieri e \u201cmaestri apparatori\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tutta la comunit\u00e0 \u00e8 coinvolta nei preparativi: dalla mietitura alla realizzazione delle trecce di grano che decorano le strade, ed \u00e8 un impegno che dura per oltre un mese.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
