Perched on a tuffaceous cliff, Tufara is famous for its medieval castle and the Carnival of the Devil, one of the most fascinating rituals of Molise folklore. The village retains a compact historical structure, with alleys, small squares and spectacular views. The cultural heritage is strong and alive: the community keeps alive ancient traditions linked to the cycle of nature and popular religiosity. Tufara is a place of living memory, perfectly integrated in the Ecomuseum network.
Tufara boasts an ancient history: the Longobard fortress, the sacred places that celebrate the Saint of the Fortore Valley and traditions such as the famous Carnival of the Devil, make it a destination for tourists from all over Italy and beyond. And immersed in lush nature, such as the Pianella forest, it is ideal for those who love hiking and relaxation. The local cuisine offers typical dishes, such as handmade cavatelli, accompanied by local cheeses and cold cuts. In addition, the community is committed to enhancing the cultural and natural heritage, with events that bring the entire town alive.
