Church of St Nicholas

The church is dated between the 14th-15th centuries and was erected under the name of St Sebastian 'outside the land of Gambatesa'. From 1586 to 1653 it was sacrificed by the Conventual Minors of St Francis also called 'of the shoe', who resided in the nearby convent. Following the damage caused by an earthquake in 1688, it was rebuilt in 1696 and solemnly recognised with the name of San Nicola.
