The Fortore Ecomuseum was established in the heart of the Molise Apennines, in a border area between Molise, Apulia and Campania, bringing together twelve small municipalities rich in history, nature and traditions. The aim of this project is to enhance the territory of the Fortore Inner Area as a real diffuse museum, where villages, landscapes, rural architecture, oral memories and ancient knowledge become a living part of a shared heritage

The ecomuseum is a collective experience, built with the active involvement of local communities, who become custodians and narrators of their own identity. It is not a closed museum, but a territory to be discovered, experienced and understood, through routes, events, educational activities and cultural initiatives.
Whoever visits the Fortore Ecomuseum is not just a tourist, but a temporary citizen who enters into an authentic relationship with people and places, contributing to the protection and transmission of a living and evolving memory.
